Throughout HCA, our message is “Radiation Right:” committing to be certain your imaging procedures are the “Right exam, Right site and Right dose. “Our commitment to patient safety is steadfast and our focus is strong. We value the health of our communities and want you to know we have dedicated team members taking the extra steps to provide high quality care.
Two significant ways we are demonstrating our commitment include our pledging to the national radiation safety initiatives, Image Gently and Image Wisely.
The Image Gently pledge focuses completely on pediatric imaging (Patients 0-18 yrs). When setting our imaging equipment, we use age and weight specific criteria that meet strict guidelines set forth by Image Gently and the American College of Radiology. We provide for your safety by using appropriate shielding, collaborating with board certified radiologists, and requiring all of our technologists to be licensed and credentialed in their respective specialties. In addition to Image Gently for pediatric patients, we have pledged to Image Wisely. This program focuses on providing safe imaging for adult patients. The Image Wisely pledge and website provides us, as your imaging provider, and you with information on the benefits versus the risks of screening imaging procedures as well as links to information on procedures you may need in the future.
